2007 Husqvarna TC450 – Detail Refinement of the Italian 450 Motocrosser
The 2007 Husqvarna TC450 was an evolutionary update rather than a new generation. The major mechanical changes to the Italian 450 platform had arrived during the preceding seasons, so Husqvarna concentrated on improving durability, rideability and suspension setup while retaining the established 449cc DOHC engine, five-speed motocross transmission and steel chassis.
The engine continued with its 97.0 x 60.8 mm bore and stroke, 12.9:1 compression ratio and 41 mm Keihin FCR-MX flat-slide carburettor. For 2007 Husqvarna revised the clutch basket and strengthened the kick-start shaft, changes aimed at improving durability under competition use. Owners maintaining the original induction system can compare replacement carburettor options when worn slides, jets or accelerator-pump components require attention.
Suspension remained a strong European feature of the TC450. The bike used a 50 mm Marzocchi twin-chamber inverted fork with approximately 300 mm of travel and an Öhlins linkage shock at the rear. Husqvarna revised the damping calibration for 2007 to improve control over rough motocross terrain. The MXOwners fork oil reference is useful when servicing the original Marzocchi units.
The rear braking system also received attention, with a revised Brembo master cylinder incorporating its fluid reservoir. For owners today, regular oil and filter changes, valve-clearance checks, clean air filtration and careful inspection of chassis bearings remain essential. The 2007 TC450 was not a radical redesign, but it represented a well-developed version of Husqvarna's Italian 450 motocross platform before the larger chassis and engine changes that followed in later years.
