2007 Husqvarna TC510 – Mature Big-Bore Motocross Power
The 2007 Husqvarna TC510 was an evolutionary update rather than a new generation. It continued the established 501cc DOHC four-stroke platform and remained Husqvarna's big-bore motocross option for riders wanting substantially more torque than the TC450. The basic engine and steel-frame layout carried over, with development focused on suspension, durability and detail improvements.
The 501cc engine used a 97.0 mm bore and 67.8 mm stroke with a high 12.5:1 compression ratio. A 41 mm Keihin FCR-MX flat-slide carburettor supplied fuel, giving the big single sharp throttle response despite its considerable displacement. On surviving bikes, accelerator-pump condition, jetting and slide wear can strongly influence starting and response, so owners can compare replacement carburettor options when rebuilding the original intake system.
One of the most notable features of the 2007 chassis was its suspension package. Husqvarna used a 50 mm Marzocchi twin-chamber inverted fork offering 300 mm of travel and an Öhlins rear shock working through a progressive linkage. The fork used SAE 5 oil at approximately 350 cm³ per leg, and the MXOwners fork oil reference is useful when servicing these original Marzocchi units.
The TC510 remained a dedicated motocross bike, despite sharing engine architecture with Husqvarna's TE enduro range. Standard TC specification used a 21-inch front and 19-inch rear wheel, motocross gearing and no factory enduro lighting equipment. Modern tyre replacements can be compared using the MXOwners tyre size guide.
For owners today, maintenance history matters more than outright mileage. Frequent oil and filter changes, correct valve clearances, a clean foam air filter and inspection of the cam chain, clutch and suspension bearings are essential. The 2007 TC510 was not a radical redesign, but it represents a mature version of Husqvarna's Italian big-bore motocross formula: strong torque, premium European suspension and a distinctive steel-frame chassis.
